Broncos Take on First AMCC Challenge at Pitt Bradford

BRAFORD, Pa. (October 28, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's and men's swimming and diving teams competed in their first AMCC meet of the season Saturday, traveling to Pitt Bradford for a tri-match with the Panthers and Penn State Altoona.

The ladies accounted for all the Broncos' wins, courtesy of first-place finishes by Julia Witt, Kaitlyn Quezada and Alexandria Caceres. Witt finished the 1,000-yard freestyle at 12:54.66, then took the 500-yard freestyle at 6:14.59. Quezada had a pair of victories, taking first in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:11.03, then the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:18.12. Caceres captured the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:12.72. Tanner Ashton posted the men's highest finish at third place in the 500-yard freestyle at 7:27.13.

Head coach Mike Burud's team heads to SUNY Cobleskill in two weeks on Saturday, Nov. 9. The men will square off directly with the Fighting Tigers, while the women will face Cobleskill and William Smith in a tri-meet.
