Men Carry Broncos to Finals on Last Day of AMCC's

ERIE, Pa. (February 17, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi swimming and diving team put a capper on an historic first trip to the AMCC Championships on Saturday, and with it, a satisfying conclusion to their first year in NCAA Division III.

The men carried the Broncos all the way to the end, with three making the cut from preliminaries to finals. Robert Armistead took a 2:41.87 prelim time to the 200-yard backstroke finals, finishing eighth with a time of 2:41.46. Jonathon Brathwaite swam a 3:11.49 in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims to place eighth in the finals at 3:11.09. James Brunt carried his 1:03.30 prelim mark from the 100-yard freestyle on his way to taking 11th in finals at 1:02.66. The relay team of Brunt, Armistead, Damon Keefer and Jacob Shoemaker

Head coach Mike Burud's swimmers achieved a lot to be proud of during their four-day stay at Penn State Behrend for the conference championships. In all, the Broncos secured 15 finals spots through preliminaries, which included many PR performances. The men finished fifth with 119 points, while the women tallied 13 points for sixth place.
