Broncos Wrap Up Productive First Two Days at AMCC's

ERIE, Pa. (February 15, 2019) – SUNY Delhi is officially two days deep competing at the AMCC Swimming and Diving Championships at Penn State Behrend. The Broncos will look to continue to make the most of their first-ever NCAA conference championship during Friday and Saturday's competitions.

The Broncos arrived in Northwest Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon, and competed that evening in the men's 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of James Brunt, Jonathon Brathwaite, Robert Armistead and Jacob Shoemaker took fifth with a time of 9:47.91.

During preliminaries on Thursday, John Cosmus and Jonathon Brathwaite qualified for the 50-yard freestyle finals with times of 28.51 and 28.81, respectively. Cosmus went on to place 11th in the finals at 29.37, while Jonathon Brathwaite placed 12th at 29.87.

In the distance events, Julia Witt finished 11th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:05.46, as Armistead took 12th in the 200-yard IM with a mark of 2:41.63.

Thursday concluded with the 400-yard freestyle, with the men's team of Armistead, Jonathon Brathwaite, Jacob Shoemaker and James Brunt finishing fifth at 4:59.27.
