COBLESKILL, N.Y. (October 28, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi swimming and diving team officially opened their men's and women's seasons on Saturday at SUNY Cobleskill. The Broncos competed in a tri-match with the Fighting Tigers and Norwich. The men defeated Cobleskill, 89-64, and put up 23 points to Norwich's 214. The ladies scored 37 points to Cobleskill's 93, and 28 to Norwich's 136.

Julia Witt highlighted the Delhi women's season opener, capturing two victories. She won the 200-yard freestyle at 2:16.79 and the 50-yard freestyle at 33.48. In her SUNY Delhi debut, Caitlyn Dowd took third in the 50-yard butterfly at 40.64 and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:19.41.

The men had their highest finish in the 200-yard medley relay, where Daniel Landis, Robert Armistead, Jacob Shoemaker and John Cosmus finished third with a time of 2:32.78. Landis logged a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 50-yard backstroke at 43.61 and the 500-yard freestyle at 8:00.69. Armistead took fourth in the 50-yard breaststroke at 39.42, as did Shoemaker in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:24.60.

Head coach Mike Burud's team's next contest sees them traveling to Cazenovia on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1:00 p.m.
