VIDEO: Get to Know Head Coach Mike Burud

DELHI, N.Y. (October 26, 2018) - With the SUNY Delhi swimming and diving season ready to get in full swing, check out what first-year head coach Mike Burud has in store for the future of the Broncos.

Burud, a former swimmer at St. Bonaventure University and most recently an assistant coach at Marist College, was hired this past summer to lead the SUNY Delhi swimming and diving team entering their first year in NCAA Division III. The program received even more good news when they were accepted to join the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). The Broncos will compete at the conference championships from Wednesday, Feb. 13 to Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at Penn State Behrend.

The men opened their season two weeks ago at William Paterson, where they posted six wins in a 79-66 defeat on Oct. 13. This Saturday marks the team's first men's and women's meet of the season, traveling to SUNY Cobleskill. The Broncos will trek on to Cazenovia on Saturday, Nov. 3, followed by William Smith on Saturday, Nov. 10. The squad will then head to Pennsylvania for a meet at Cedar Crest on Saturday, Nov. 17. Burud's team has two weeks off before they host their Fall Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 1, welcoming Cazenovia, Penn State Altoona and Bard Simon's Rock.

The Broncos will ring in the new year with a meet at Alfred State on Saturday, Jan. 19. Delhi will then take on Wells in a mid-week clash on Wednesday, Jan. 23, followed by traveling to the Ithaca Diving Invite on Sunday, Jan. 27. The Broncos will conclude their regular season at Skidmore on Saturday, Feb. 2.
