Men Win Six in Coach Burud's Debut at William Paterson

WAYNE, N.J. (October 13, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi men's swimming and diving began their new era under head coach Mike Burud on Saturday, opening their season at William Paterson. The Broncos tallied six victories on the day as they fell to the Pioneers by a 79-66 score.

In their first contest as official NCAA Division III members, Jacob Shoemaker, Damon Keefer and James Brunt each had a pair of wins. The three joined forces with John Cosmus to take the 200-yard freestle at 2:13.91. Shoemaker achieved his remaining victory in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:21.61, while Keefer earned his other in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:24.01 and Brunt in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:40.93. Daniel Landis picked up a victory in the 500-yard freestyle at 8:20.66, while Robert Armistead gathered a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:34.20.

Coach Burud and his Broncos have their first men's and women's competition in two weeks, traveling for a meet at SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Oct. 27.
