DELHI, N.Y. (June 12, 2018) – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has officially introduced SUNY Delhi as an affiliate member for men's and women's swimming and diving beginning with the 2018-19 season. This upcoming season will mark the team's first official year in NCAA Division III, and the school's first as NCAA provisional members.

"The AMCC is extremely pleased that SUNY Delhi will compete in both men's and women's swimming with the conference this coming year," said Commissioner Donna Ledwin. "They have made a strong commitment to growing the program with the hiring of a full-time coach, and we welcome the opportunity to expand an already competitive field of swimmers with their teams."

SUNY Delhi just recently announced the hiring of Mike Burud as the college's new swimming and diving head coach. A four-year swimmer and 2014 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, Burud comes to Delhi after spending the last four years as an assistant coach at Marist College. He is set to get the Broncos ready for a great season, and have the team in top form for their first AMCC Championships in February, 2019.

Up until 2015, SUNY Delhi swimming and diving competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and spent the last three years in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) when the school transitioned to four-year athletics. One of the team's finest recent accomplishments was in 2014, when the women placed seventh and the men eighth at the NJCAA National Championships. That team produced eight All-Americans.
