Men and Women Both Place Second as Hosts of Fall Invitational

DELHI, N.Y. (December 2, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi swimming and diving team made their triumphant home debut Saturday, hosting Cazenovia and Queensborough in the SUNY Delhi Fall Invitational. The Broncos men and women both took second, with the men racking up 260 points and the women earning 154 points. The Cazenovia women won the invitational with 822 points, while Queensborough took the men's competition with 420.5 points.

The men finished with five victories on the day. Diver SeJean Gibbs earned a pair of wins for Delhi in the one-meter and three-meter diving events, earning 200.7 and 183.3 points, respectively. He would also team with Jacob Shoemaker, Dan Landis and Ryan Pappalau to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:59.26. Pappalau also got the Broncos in the win column in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 6:59.38. Landis picked up the team's final victory in the 1650-yard freestyle with a mark of 29:28.17.

For the women, Julia Witt finished second in the 1650-yard freestyle at 23:13.93, third in the 500-yard freestyle at 6:23.62 and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:20.13. Alyssa Lacomb-Brown followed with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:42.52.
