Meagan Stone (née Hillard) enters her sixth season leading the SUNY Delhi softball program for the 2023-24 academic year. Her appointment as head coach in the winter of 2019 marked a pivotal moment for the Broncos. Swiftly elevating the team's competitive stance during the transition to NCAA Division III and the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Stone's leadership has been instrumental. Notably, the spring of 2022 signifies SUNY Delhi's inaugural year as a full-fledged NCAA member, opening doors to NCAA championship opportunities.

Stone's initial years at the helm have been defined by remarkable progress and resilience. Taking on the role amidst challenges, including a roster of just 13 student-athletes and a previous 0-27 season, Stone orchestrated a remarkable turnaround. In 2019, the Broncos achieved an 11-15 record, marking their first double-digit win season in three years and securing a spot in the ACAA Tournament. Additionally, junior Sierra Keesler's recognition as a Second Team USCAA All-American marked a significant milestone as Delhi's first All-American since 2016. The following year, despite the abrupt cancellation of the season, Stone's 2020 team showcased promise and capped their Florida trip with a triumphant 4-2 victory over Anna Maria. This win became their season's concluding chapter. The team's determination bore fruit in 2021, as they finished with a 12-8 record, clinching second place in the NAC West and earning a spot in the NAC Tournament during their inaugural year in the conference. This accomplishment resulted in four Broncos receiving All-NAC selections.

Stone brings to the Broncos a rich background in softball, drawing from her experience as a utility player during her four years as a student-athlete at Pitt-Bradford. Following her playing days, she further contributed to the sport as an assistant coach for two years with the Panthers. Stone's achievements include earning the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Academic All-Conference recognition in 2013, 2015, and 2016, as well as receiving the college's Scholar-Athlete Award for the same years. She assumed the role of captain during the 2015 and 2016 seasons, leaving her mark with 26 runs, four home runs, 106 putouts, and 50 assists.

In her role as an assistant coach, Stone specialized in working with outfielders, focusing on refining mechanics and sharing responsibilities as a hitting coach. Her contributions extended to developing training routines, circuits, yearly goals, team activities, and fundraising initiatives. Notably, she also organized and supervised pitcher/catcher clinics for aspiring young players.

Stone's educational journey led her to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training in 2016. Throughout her studies, she completed valuable internships at Houghton College and St. Bonaventure University, complemented by clinical experiences at Pitt-Bradford and Portville Central School.

Beyond her athletic endeavors, Stone actively engaged with the Athletic Training Club, fulfilling the role of Treasurer and contributing to the Senior Gift Campaign. This involvement included managing club funds, coordinating work shifts, and contributing to strategies aimed at meeting donor challenges.
