Gregory Keesler

Gregory Keesler is in his seventh year as the SUNY Delhi assistant softball coach for the 2023-24 season. Keesler joined the program in 2017 and was promoted to top assistant in 2018. This will be his fifth year under head coach Meagan Hillard. Keesler is the father of SUNY Delhi softball alumnus and 2019 USCAA All-American Second Team selection Sierra Keesler.

Keesler led the program during the 2018 fall season prior to the arrival of new head coach Meagan Hillard. That following spring saw Keesler and Hillard turn around a team that finished 0-27 the year before to an 11-15 mark in 2019, despite carrying a roster of 13 players. The team then posted a 3-7 record in 2020 before their season was abruptly cut short.

Keesler, who is from Walton, NY and has 14 years of local softball coaching experience, has served as a softball coach in various capacities in the Hancock area. These include the Hancock Youth Leagues and serving as the assistant coach at Hancock High School. He has also coached several club teams, including the Nep Nitro 16-U Travel Team, Nep Nitro 16-U and 18-U Fastpitch Travel Teams, and the Chaos 18-U Fastpitch Team. Keesler also started and ran the East Branch Softball League from 2006 to 2012.

In his first season with the Broncos in 2017, Keesler helped coach the infielders and played a big part in the team’s recruitment. SUNY Delhi competed at the inaugural ACAA Tournament at SUNY Canton, where infielder Sierra Becht was named to the All-Tournament Team.
