CANTON, N.Y. (May 6, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi softball team wrapped up their season this weekend at the ACAA Tournament, hosted by SUNY Canton. The conference championship followed a double elimination format. The Broncos played Finlandia in the first round game, coming up short on a 10-4 decision. They then played Maine Presque Isle in their second game, falling 4-0 in a tight defensive battle.

Outfielder Emily Clapper was named to the ACAA All-Tournament Team after combining for 3-for-7 at the plate with one double. She started both tournament games in center field and even logged an incredible over-the-shoulder catch to save an extra-base hit against Maine Presque Isle.

Finlandia went ahead in the bottom of the second with two runs and three more in the third. The Broncos battled back to plate three in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 5-3. The Lions, however, tacked on two in the bottom half and three more in the fifth to lead, 10-3. Despite another run by the Broncos in the sixth, that would be the last score of the contest.
