Yerow Uses Career Best for Second at Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. (September 29, 2019) – Abshir Yerow turned in a historic effort with a second-place finish in the SUNY Delhi men's cross country team's competition at the 8K SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational. Yerow clocked in a career-best time of 25:35.6, just 14 seconds off the pace and a 31-second improvement from his performance in last year's race, as the Broncos placed seventh out of 24 teams. His time stands seventh all-time at SUNY Delhi.

In a field that saw 314 runners, freshmen Aiden Berlinski and Seth Bywater also posted season-best times. Berlinski took 29th in a time of 26:50.9, while Bywater placed 30th at 26:53.7. Lucas Reilly finished in 71st place with a mark of 27:43.3, as Devon Benarick came in 91st place at 28:05.8. Aidan Cutting took 112th at 28:30.0, with Aaron Vivlamore finishing 139th at 29:09.8.

Also running for Delhi were Matthew Sabolenko (29:17.7), Jack Hopkins (29:49.4), Frank Martucci (30:21.9), and Lewis Race (30:37.5).

Head coach Robb Munro's men will take the next week and a half to get ready to host their annual Bronco Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
