Yerow, Bywater Take Top Two at Vassar

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (September 7, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi men's cross country team paid a visit Saturday to the Vassar College Ron Stonitsch Invitational. The tandem of Abshir Yerow and Seth Bywater took the top two respective spots as the Broncos placed third in the 6-kilometer event with 63 points.

Yerow topped the field of 91 runners from six teams with a time of 19:18.1. Bywater was right behind him with a time of 19:35.6. Aiden Berlinski finished 19th at 20:34.9, while Lucas Reilly was 20th at 20:42.5. Devon Benarick took 22nd clocking in at 20:43.3, with Ted Oster placing 26th at 20:48.8. Aidan Cutting rounded out Delhi's scoring by placing 30th in 20:57.8.

Also running for Delhi Saturday were Bladimir Pena (21:45.5), Mathew Sabolenko (21:54.50, Aaron Vivlamore (22:09.8), Anthony Cuchel (22:12.1), Derrick Kenan (22:12.7), Frank Martucci (22:15.1), Jack Hopkins (22:22.0), Braxxdon Dawson (23:33.6), Vincent Matarese (23:46.4), Michael Moran (24:51.3), Tyler Kemble (24:55.3), and Stanton Baker (24:58.0).

Head coach Robb Munro's runners will head up the road next Saturday, Sept. 14 when they compete at the Oneonta Airfield Invitational.
