Lane Wins Hamilton Invite in Season Debut as Broncos Place Third

HAMILTON, N.Y. (September 8, 2018) – In his season debut, senior Kobie Lane earned a first-place finish Saturday at the Hamilton Invite, as the Broncos grabbed three top-eight finishes to finish third with 54 points. The five-kilometer race took place at the Hamilton College Golf Course, where Hamilton won the event with 48 points, while Ithaca placed second with 53 points.

Lane finished the race with a mark of 15:23.4, 15 seconds ahead of the pack. Freshman Abshir Yerow was the second Bronco past the finish line, taking fifth with a time of 15:55.0. Lucas Reilly earned an eighth-place mark with a time of 16:07.5. Newcomer Devon Benarick took 17th place at 16:22.5 and Ted Oster finished 23rd at 16:38.0 to account for Delhi's scoring.

Also running for the Broncos were Bladimir Pena (32nd, 16:50.5), Kevin Malen (38th, 16:57.4), Jack Hopkins (45th, 17:07.2), Caleb Mallery (58th, 17:30.2), Anthony Cuchel (69th, 17:50.2), Tyler Kemble (82nd, 18:32.7), Jahdei Rodriguez Reid (92nd, 21:23.1).

Other teams competing Saturday included SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Cortland, Nazareth, Wells and NCAA Division II Le Moyne.

Head coach Robb Munro's harriers' next challenge will be at the SUNY Oneonta Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15.
