Andrino, Dean Land All-NAC

WATERVILLE, Me. (May 9, 2019) – The conclusion of SUNY Delhi men's tennis' first season in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) was capped with all-conference honors. Marcos Andrino (Yorktown Heights, NY / Lakeland) and Payton Dean (Harpursville, NY / Harpursville) were awarded a spot on the NAC's All-Doubles Team, as well as Andrino being recognized to the NAC Sportsmanship Team.

The senior, junior duo of Andrino and Dean had a season record of 2-2, with both wins coming against conference opponents. Playing in the one spot, Andrino and Dean defeated NAC foes from NVU-Johnson and NVU-Lyndon by matching scores of 8-3. Andrino held a 6-7 overall doubles record in 2019, while Dean was 5-4 overall in tandem matches.

As the team captain, Andrino represented the Broncos for the NAC's sportsmanship honor, capping off a commendable four-year career. The NAC Men's Tennis Sportsmanship Team is reserved for student athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees are individuals who have positively affected the men's tennis culture and match environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity that goes beyond the tennis playing rules and etiquette.

The Broncos concluded the season with a 5-8 record. As the third seed in the NAC Tournament, Delhi avenged a regular-season defeat to MCLA just a week prior to beat the second-seed Trailblazers, 5-4, in the semifinals. They finished runners-up in the conference to league-leading Thomas. First-year players, sophomore Jake Robinson and freshman Christopher Balogh, were recognized to the NAC All-Tournament Team.
