ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 21, 2018) – SUNY Delhi men's soccer captured their seventh straight win Sunday afternoon, this time claiming a 3-1 decision at Nazareth. Team-leading scorer Alhasane Sako scored Delhi's first two goals of the day for his fourth multi-goal game of the year as the Broncos propelled to 10-2 on the season.

The first half ended as a scoreless affair, with keeper Marcos Andrino tallying three of his six saves in the opening session. That included a clutch save at 6:32, as the senior caught a penalty kick from Josh Ripoc to keep the Golden Flyers off the board. The silent tune changed early in the latter half when Sako lived up to his high-scoring pedigree with goal number one at the 49:50 mark, assisted by Brody Rettle. Sako received the feed at the top of the box, then dribbled past a defender to gather the goal. Nazareth brought the game back to an even level when Adoniadis Savidis scored off a rebound from a Justin Pumputis shot at the 60:09 point.

Sako quickly swung the game back to Delhi's advantage just 34 seconds later when he took advantage of a misplayed header to give the Bronocs the lead for good. Juan Velez put the game away at 83:07 when a Rettle shot hit the post and the freshman was there to bury it for the two-goal difference.

The Broncos took advantage of their scoring opportunities, despite trailing, 17-12, in shots on the afternoon. Delhi also had just two corner-kick chances to Naz's nine. Andrino played all 90 minutes in net to improve his record to 8-1.

Sako upped his season scoring total to 27 points on 12 goals and three assists, leading the ACAA in both points and goals. Rettle's two assists improved his totals to 22 points on eight goals and six assists, and now ranks second in the ACAA in points.

Head coach Brian Mitko's team has two more contests before wrapping up their regular season, hosting New Rochelle on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., followed by a road meeting at Fisher on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Entering the postseason, the Broncos have locked up the third seed for the ACAA Tournament, and will play Pine Manor in the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Finlandia University (Mich.).
