Alhasane Sako's Four Goals Land Him ACAA Athlete of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (September 4, 2018) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) today announced junior forward Alhasane Sako (Brooklyn, NY / Academy for Social Action) as its Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week. Sako was recognized for his back-to-back two-goal performances to help lead the Broncos to a perfect 2-0 start to the season. Delhi opened the year with a 6-0 win at Pratt on Friday and defeated Alfred State, 6-3, in its home debut on Sunday.

The Brooklyn, NY native's four goals puts him as the ACAA's leading scorer this season with eight points. Sako led off the scoring in both contests, and broke a 1-1 tie in the latter game Sunday against the Pioneers to put Delhi ahead for good. His one other goal Friday against the Cannoneers came in the second half to give Delhi a 4-0 advantage. The junior forward's efforts helped guide the Broncos to their first 2-0 start since 2016, and first under second-year head coach Brian Mitko.

Sako and the Broncos look to keep their hot start going this Thursday when they welcome Clarks Summit for an afternoon meeting at 4:00 p.m.
