Jarrett McWilliams Wins Elmira Invitational, Delhi's Teams Finish One and Four

(April 23, 2019) – Sophomore Jarrett McWilliams received his first career win on Tuesday during SUNY Delhi men's golf's weekday match at the Elmira Invitational. The native of Canandaigua, NY finished with a 75 three-over-par total, winning the 60-player field by one stroke at the par-72, 6,687-yard Elmira Country Club. McWilliams led the Broncos' "B" team that finished tied with team champion SUNY Oswego, earning a 321 (+33) score.

Delhi's primary team took fourth in the 11-team tournament, carrying a 333 (+45) total. Daniel Christy and Aaron Oliver each led the group in ninth place with a pair of 82's (+10). Alex Fisher finished 13th with an 83 (+11), while Zach Barrett and Russell Herbert both placed 27th with 86's (+14).

Finishing behind McWilliams in the second group included Jonathan Smolen, who placed eighth with an 81 score (+9). Brandon Palmer also tied for ninth with Christy and Oliver with an 82 (+10), while Jason Cyr finished alongside Fisher in 13th with an 83 (+11). Derek Firment rounded out Delhi's day, placing 40th with an 89 (+17).

Head coach Dave Arehart's men conclude their regular season this weekend when they take on the Oswego Laker Invite on Saturday and Sunday.
