Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (April 12, 2019) – SUNY Delhi men's golf began their spring break competitions over Thursday and Friday at the Le Moyne Mike Bello Invitational. The Broncos stood in sixth place after day one with a 311 (+27) total, and carried a second-day score of 324 (+40) to finish ninth with a 635 (+67). After a 73 on Thursday for fifth-place on the leaderboard, Daniel Christy shot an 80 Friday to lead Delhi with an 11th-place finish with a 153 (+11). Alex Fisher improved on his 80 first-day score with a 79 to take 34th with a 159 (+17). Jarrett McWilliams shot a 78 the first day, followed by an 82 to take 42nd with a 160 (+18). Brandon Palmer carded an 80 on day one, then shot an 84 to finish 53rd with a 164 (+22). Aaron Oliver rounded out the Delhi team scoring, taking 82 and 83 daily totals for 56th place with a 165 (+23).

Competing for the Broncos individually included Russell Herbert, who took 83 and 84 scores for 63rd with a 167 (+25). Jonathan Smolen scored an 86 and 84 over both days to take 66th with a 170 (+28), while Bobby Goerlich shot a 95 and 90 for 72nd with an 185 (+43) and Derek Firment carrying 97 and 98 totals for 73rd place with a 195 (+53).

Head coach Dave Arehart's team now heads east on their spring break trip, as they take off for the Skidmore Palamountain Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
