Fisher, Oliver Take Top Ten as Broncos Claim Fourth at Oswego State

OSWEGO, N.Y. (September 30, 2018) – Alex Fisher and Aaron Oliver earned top-ten finishes during the SUNY Delhi men's golf team's two-day stay at the Oswego State Fall Invitational, where the Broncos placed fourth in the 11-team field.

With the squad of Fisher, Oliver, Daniel Christy, Brandon Palmer and Jonathan Smolen, Delhi totaled a 631 (317, 314), just 20 strokes out of first place. Fisher placed seventh with a 155 total (78, 77), while Oliver took ninth with a 156 (79, 77). Christy (83, 77) and Smolen (77, 83) both finished 16th with 160 scores. Christy improved by six strokes on day two to move up eight spots from his leaderboard spot following day one. Palmer placed 29th with a 169 (86, 83).

Host Oswego State won the tournament with a 611, while Penn State Behrend took second at 624 and Clarkson third with 627. Other schools that competed included Elmira, Hobart, Keuka, Sage, SUNY ESF and Morrisville State.

Head coach Dave Arehart's team has a week ahead of them to prepare to defend their national title for the USCAA Championships. The two-day event will take place Monday, October 8 and Tuesday, October 9.
