Joe Burgin Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 18, 2018) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes. Senior Joseph Burgin (Bovina Center, NY / Delaware Academy) was among the 180 student-athletes across the country to receive this honor. Burgin will graduate with a Bachelor's in Business and Professional Golf Management, and currently holds a 3.68 GPA.

Burgin averaged an 81.9 through 16 rounds during his senior season, including a low of 73 in the Broncos' season opener against The Apprentice School in September, a 309-311 victory. He went on to score a 74 in round one of the NIAC Championships to help SUNY Delhi to the league title, followed by 77 and 79 scores at the USCAA National Championships, where the Broncos took home their first national team title. In the spring, the Bovina Center native scored a best of 84 during the team's dual match at Hamilton on April 14.
