Oliver Leads Squad with 161 as Broncos Place 10th, 11th at Heath Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 10, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team wrapped up their two-day stay at The Apprentice School's Glenn Heath Memorial Invitational on Tuesday with 10th and 11th-place finishes. The competition took place at the 72-par, 6,822-yard Williamsburg Country Club.

The Broncos team of Frank Gargano, Aaron Oliver, Jonathan Smolen, Brandon Palmer and Derek Firment combined for a 672 (+96), while the squad of Russell Herbert, Alex Fisher, Ryan Florack, Joseph Burgin and Daniel Christy shot a 685 (+109).

Oliver led the Broncos with a 161 total (81, 80), good for a tie for 20th on the player leaderboard. Christy finished shooting a 166 (81, 85), while Florack clubbed a 167 (87, 80). Smolen tallied a 168 (89, 79), as Palmer shot a 169 (84, 85) and Firment (91, 85), Fisher (87, 89) and Herbert (90, 86) each totaled a 176. Burgin shot a 179 (90, 89) and Gargano finished with a 183 (89, 94).

Head coach Dave Arehart's squad heads back home to New York State as their next competition takes them to Syracuse for Le Moyne's Mike Bello Invitational Thursday and Friday.
