Delhi Leads After Day One at NIAC Championships

DELHI, N.Y. (September 30, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi men's golf team ended day one of the NIAC Championships in first place, with the host Broncos combining for a 298 score at their own par-72, 6542-yard College Golf Course at Delhi. Aaron Oliver shot par on Saturday to top the day-one leaderboard with a 72.

The Broncos hold the top nine individual spots. Jonathan Smolen shot a 73 to sit in second place, with Joseph Burgin in third with a two-over-par at 74. Alex Fisher is fourth with a 76, while Russell Herbert is one stroke behind him to sit in fifth. Daniel Christy shot a seven-over-par (79) for sixth place, while Ryan Florack clubbed an 80 for seventh place. Derek Firment finished Saturday with an 85 for eighth place, while Brandon Palmer is ninth after shooting an 87, a 15-over-par.

The second and final day of competition tees off Sunday, Oct. 1 with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
