Fragale Caps off Stellar Season with USCAA All-American Honorable Mention

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 5, 2019) – For the second straight season, junior point guard Jordan Fragale (Baldwinsville, NY / C.W. Baker) was named a USCAA All-American Honorable Mention. Fragale just completed a career year where he was a guiding force in the Broncos' strong second half of the season that culminated in the team's first ACAA Championship.

After a 5-8 start through the first half of the season, Fragale and the Broncos won ten of their final 12 regular season games, as well as winning ten straight home games, to clinch the two seed for the ACAA Tournament. All told, Delhi won 12 of its final 14 games for a 17-10 record, posting its winningest season under fourth-year head coach Zack Thomsen in terms of winning percentage (63.0), while matching their highest season win total since Thomsen's first team in 2015-16 that finished 17-13.

Fragale's third year under Coach Thomsen saw him earn an ACAA Player of the Week award, and finish far and away as the ACAA's assists leader with 8.1 per game. He was named to the All-ACAA First Team after leading the team with 13.4 ppg., totaling four 20-point games and five double-doubles, all in the points and assists categories. Fragale was then named the ACAA Tournament MVP after successful performances in both of Delhi's tournament games, including scoring the game-winning baskets in the closing seconds to beat Pine Manor in the semifinals, and host Alfred State in the title game.

Trailing Pine Manor by as much as 12 points with six-and-a-half minutes to go, the Broncos rallied to get to within one at 75-74. Fragale stepped up in the paint and delivered the game-winner with just 8.3 seconds to go. In the ACAA Championship against host Alfred State, the Broncos again rallied late, this time down by 13 with ten minutes to go. Tied, 75-75, Fragale took an open lane along the baseline and connected for the deciding layup with 2.1 ticks to play. He finished with 14 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals against the Gators, then totaled a game-high 27 points and eight assists, along with five boards, versus the Pioneers.
