DELHI, N.Y. (December 2, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team cruised to their third straight home win on Sunday, as a dozen Broncos scored, including four in double figures, to defeat Albany College of Pharmacy, 90-58. Delhi held substantial advantages in several major stat categories to take the sizable win, including a 60-32 lead in rebounds, 23-7 in second-chance points, and 42-18 in points in the paint. The victory improved head coach Zack Thomsen's team's record to 4-3, and 3-0 in games where they have scored at least 90 points.

The Broncos and Panthers hung tight in the beginning, with the first half featuring six lead changes and four ties. Delhi took the lead for good on a Jordan Fragale layup with 3:39 to break a 27-27 tie with 3:39 left before halftime. The men took this opportunity to close out the half on a 17-6 run that saw them ahead, 44-33, at intermission. The home team continued to build on its lead throughout the second half, not allowing ACPHS to get any closer than nine points of their lead for the rest of the game.

Mavenson Therneus led all scorers with 17 points, while Fragale notched 14 points with five rebounds and five assists. William Knight gathered 11 points and four boards off the bench, while Jared Beach recorded ten markers with six rebounds off the pine. Justin Daoud nearly had a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds, as Carlos Ithier drilled a pair of threes on his way to eight points. Ricky Hicks gathered seven points, as Payton Dean tallied six points with nine boards. Jacob Beach made one 3-pointer for three points, with Saquan Goland, Jordan Jackson and Nate Craft each finishing with two points, as well as Goland swatting a pair of blocks.

Delhi outshot Albany Pharmacy from the field, 42.9 percent (33-for-77) to 29.5 percent (18-for-61), and made 11-of-30 threes to the Panthers' 4-for-24. The Broncos also converted on 13-of-18 free throws, while ACPHS made 18-of-25.

The Broncos have a short time to enjoy the win, however, as they head out the door Monday to look to keep their high-scoring pedigree going at Centenary for a 7:00 p.m. game. It marks the first of a seven-game road trip for the Broncos, which will carry the team into the new year. Their next home contest is against Penn College on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 4:00 p.m.
