Fragale Knocks Down Season-High 23 Points at Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y. (November 29, 2018) – Guard Jordan Fragale turned in a season-high 23 points with five assists and four rebounds to lead all scorers at Hartwick Thursday night. Though Fragale and three other Broncos scored in double figures, the SUNY Delhi men's basketball team fell to the Hawks by an 89-74 score. Head coach Zack Thomsen's team is now 3-3 on the year.

Payton Dean once again flirted with a double-double on 12 points and nine boards, while Justin Daoud collected 11 points, William Knight ten points and Mavenson Therneus nine points with five rebounds. Despite Delhi faring well against Hartwick throughout the game, it would be the rebounding and long-range shooting that gave the Hawks the edge. The home team led, 51-39, in rebounds, including 19-2 in offensive boards, and made 12-of-33 3-pointers to the Broncos' 2-of-17. Their offensive rebounding too led to an 18-7 mark in second-chance points.

Both sides squared off evenly throughout the first half, exchanging leads a total of nine times with ten ties. Delhi held its final lead at 34-33 before the Hawks' Pat Garey drilled a three with 3:36 to play before the half that triggered a 13-6 Hartwick run to give the hosts a 46-40 lead at intermission. Fragale opened the second half with a basket to cut the Hawks' lead to four, but the Broncos would get no closer. Hartwick made eight of their triples in the second half, and led by as much as 19 points with minutes left.

The Broncos made 39.1 percent from the field (25-for-64) and 22-for-31 from the free throw line, as Hartwick fared 42.9 percent (33-for-77) and 11-of-15 from the charity stripe. The Hawks also led, 42-16, in bench points.

The Delhi men return home Sunday, welcoming Albany College of Pharmacy to Floyd L. Maines Arena at 3:00 p.m.
