Andy Gravelin Joins Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

DELHI, N.Y. (October 30, 2018) – SUNY Delhi men's basketball coach Zach Thomsen has announced Andy Gravelin as his assistant coach for the 2018-19 season. The local native from Oneonta, NY will assist Coach Thomsen in Delhi's first NCAA Division III season, where the Broncos look to claim their first ACAA Championship, and improve upon their 15-15 record from 2017-18.

"Andy brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and experience to SUNY Delhi," said Coach Thomsen. "In addition to his on court coaching, his connections throughout the state will pay dividends in our recruiting. Andy has already been a tremendous addition for our program. I'm very excited to have him on our staff!"

Gravelin graduated from Hartwick College in 2003 with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Prior to graduating, He began his coaching career in 2000 with the Hoosiers AAU Basketball Program and Oneonta High School. While working with Oneonta High School, he assisted the head coach with teaching the fundamentals of the game and ran various programs. He went on to become the head varsity boys' basketball coach for Milford Central School in 2015, where he coached for three seasons.

While working towards his degree and coaching at the high school level, Gravelin has continued his role as director and coach of the Hoosiers AAU Basketball Program. There he has organized tournaments, practices, and has developed fundraisers. He is also very involved within his community, having volunteered with Oneonta Family YMCA Board of Directors, Oneonta Boys and Girls Club, CANY for the Hungry, and Saint Mary's Catholic Church.
