DELHI, N.Y. (December 1, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team welcomed Florida National to Floyd L. Maines Arena Friday night, where the Broncos were handed a 72-58 defeat. Despite near double-double performances by both Payton Dean and Saquan Goland, Delhi was unable to harness the Conquistadors' 46-35 advantage on the boards, which included 21 offensive rebounds.

Dean tallied ten points and seven rebounds, while Goland registered eight points and nine boards. Carlos Ithier led the Broncos with 11 points, making three of Delhi's five 3-pointers on the night. The other two triples came from Jake Slobe, who finished with six points. Jordan Fragale accounted for eight points, while Stephen Harten measured up for six points and four boards.

On the flip side, FNU's Terence Johnson scored a game-high 20 points with seven rebounds, including six offensive boards. He finished 9-for-15 from the floor with two triples. Jessy Cantinol had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, including seven offensive boards, while Ketrick Bartley scored 11 points.

The shooting remained virtually close. Delhi made 39.3 percent from the floor (22-for-56), 5-for-21 from long range and 9-for-15 from the charity stripe. FNU was 42.0 percent (29-for-69), 6-for-28 and 8-for-15, respectively. While the Conuistadors led the whole game, Delhi was only behind, 41-31, at the half, and were down by as much as just 17 points throughout the contest.

The two teams will meet again in early January, as Delhi will travel down to FNU for a three-day invitational, which will include the Conquistadors, Blue Lights and Virgin Islands.
