Soccer

Tom Champlin was SUNY Delhi's first NJCAA Soccer All-American in 1967, the first Bronco player ever to be so honored. Known for his all-around play and team leadership abilities, Champlin played for Coach Glen Reither, anchored the defense and served as co-captain of the Men's Soccer Team during his senior year. Champlin was the first team all-star fullback for the conference and  was awarded the Coaches Award for Soccer in 1966. A native of Downsville, NY, Champlin earned an associate's degree in Agriculture before pursuing his bachelor's degree at Cornell University. He put his education to work, returning to the family farm for a number of years before starting a trucking business which he owned and operated for 30 years. He continues to work for Downsville Central School and enjoys attending the sporting and musical events of his 13 grandchildren. He's also the proud father of two children who attended SUNY Delhi and played soccer.
