Larry Laoretti

Outstanding Supporter

For more than 20 years, Larry Laoretti has been a volunteer national spokesman, advocate and supporter of Delhi's golf education and athletic programs. When he first became associated with Delhi, he was at the pinnacle of his career after winning the 1992 US Senior Open Championship. As a volunteer national spokesman for fund-raising efforts to expand the College Golf Course, his endorsement was invaluable and led to the creation of a full service facility that now serves a variety of academic programs and athletic teams. The campaign also represented the start of a long-standing relationship with SUNY Delhi. Laoretti has appeared at virtually every SUNY Delhi Golf Classic and helped make that tournament a primary source for internships and work experiences for students. He has also been a tremendous resource for the college golf team, hosting the team during its annual pre-season practice sessions in Florida. A nationally recognized athlete who enjoyed a highly successful career on the PGA Senior Tour, Laoretti is also an expert teacher who served as head professionals at golf clubs in New York, Nevada and Florida. He is part owner and managing partner at the Great Outdoors Golf Club in Titusville, Florida and has hosted numerous fund-raising tournaments there. He is also one of the celebrities at an annual fund-raiser in Pittsburgh hosted by NHL legend Mario Lemieux. A United States Navy veteran, Laoretti was a graduate of Mahopac High School where he was an all-star in basketball, baseball and football.
