Bonnie Busch-Finn was named Most Valuable Player both years she pitched for the Lady Broncos Softball Team, 1988-1990. She also earned All-Region honors. As a freshman from Ramapo High School, Busch-Finn set a high bar pitching 101 innings, earning 26 runs and holding a run average of 1.8 and 59 strikeouts her first year at Delhi. Her freshman batting average was .434; fielding average .895 and three of her homeruns included two grand slams. Overall, her career ERA at Delhi was 1.40 and her batting average was .434. Her pitching speed was certified at 72 MPH. Busch-Finn went on to play for Oneonta and was inducted into the Oneonta State Red Dragons Hall of Fame in 2000. Cited as one of the top softball players of all-time at Oneonta, she led her team into the NYS Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association Championship in 1992 and was named ECAC Player of the Year.  She was a two-time All-SUNYAC player, an All-State player and ranked in the top 10 nationally for walks per game, victories, winning percentage and complete games. Busch-Finn still holds her place today among Delhi and Oneonta’s all-time leaders in pitching.
