Rob Waller became the first national champion in Delhi history, capturing the 142 lb. title at the 1970 NJCAA National Wrestling Championships. A two-sport standout at Delhi, he won the Outstanding Wrestling Award at the 1969 Region III Championships and earned All-Region honors in 1969 and 1970 after winning the 142 lb. and 150 lb. championship. Waller went on to Slippery Rock University and became an NCAA qualifier and Pennsylvania State College Conference Champion at 142 lb. He also was a two-time finalist for the U.S. Olympic team in 1972 and 1976. He was a high school coach in Pennsylvania for 25 eyars and currently runs Pennsylvania All-American Sports Enterprises, which trains wrestlers from across the nation. Waller has been inducted in the Western Pennsylvania Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania State Hall of Fame, and the NJCAA National Hall of Fame.
